Fall Club Tune Up Sessions

The Fall 2020 Tryouts are near...for the 2020-2021 Season
 ...   Let's play volleyball and prepare!
These warm up sessions are designed to:
  • Introduce and familiarize yourself with common drills done at various tryout sessions.
  • Train to improve your volleyball skills
  • Secure several touches on the ball through drills and games
  • Assist you in gaining additional information in order for you to make a well informed decision about club tryouts.
Please come dressed to participate, as we are going to be on the court most of the session.

Check In Info

  • Check in with Staff upon arrival.
    • Starting at 5pm
    • NOTE: From 5:00-5:45, Anne or Janice will be outside on the Deck to summarize the Penguin Club programs, answer questions about the season ahead, teams, levels, tryout, and more.
    • Penguin staff will meet you at the South entrance near the deck/sand courts inside.
    • Penguin staff will ask a series of questions regarding Covid and take your temperature.
    • We have your name on our list, as you have previously emailed us the nights you are planning to attend
    • Please bring the attached form completed with you the first night you attend during the week
    • Please bring exact cash for payment for all sessions the first night you attend during the week.

Athlete Info

  • What each athlete/coach should bring to practice.
    1. Mask to wear on the court and in the building (This is state law through late November)
    2. Back pack to hold their belongings and water
    3. Water - NO Sharing (NO Drinking Fountains will be operational, they will be TURNED OFF)
    4. Towel (maybe a hand towel for wiping hands or face etc.)
    5. Hand Sanitizer (optional if you have a small bottle)
    6. Athlete's will be guided and reminded to set their personal items inside their bag, and place their bag socially distant from others in the gym.  There is a great deal of space in the gym.  

  • Facility
    1. Access to building & Flow of traffic
      1. Entrance would be on the Deck side of the building (South side of building)
      2. Exit & Pick Up would be on the Banquet side of the building on Northview Road (North side of building)
    2. Restrooms will be sanitized on the hour 
    3. Concessions will be limited to bottled water and sealed snacks
    4. Staff will monitor spectators following social distancing and wearing masks
    5. Courts will be cleaned each morning
  • Entering the building:
    • We will ask everyone a series of questions, if you answer yes to any of them you will be asked to return home. (attached for reference)
    • We will take temperature of all that walk through the door
    • Athletes would be allowed 
    • Coaches would be allowed 
    • Parents of tune ups, we will allow ONE parent to stay only if needed. (Waukesha County has limits on occupants/gatherings.)
      1. We would ask you to sit in the bleachers or Cafe area with responsible social distancing. 
      2. And MUST wear a mask while in the facility. (Anyone not wearing a mask will be asked to leave the building)
      3. NOTE
        1. That Penguin staff will meet your athletes at the door and escort them to a court safely.
        2. And we will walk them out of the building at the conclusion of the session for those parents not staying on site.
  • Courts
    1. We will minimize number of athletes on each side of the court and may expand to additional courts
    2. We will limit the coaching staff and test them prior to start of sessions
    3. We will sanitize the volleyballs prior to the sessions and again afterwards
    4. We will remind athletes not to touch their faces and or other persons.  
    5. We will encourage AIR hi-fives and AIR hugs from a distance.
